Ecommerce Platform & Glasgow Indie Label Inspire & Connect with T-shirts & Tunes

Spreadshirt, the ecommerce site which makes it easy to buy, sell and create ideas on merchandising, is supporting #mystory with sponsored t-shirts, hoodie, polos and bags for the second year running.

#mystory is part of Glasgow indie label East 52nd Records’ Do The Right Thing (D.T.R.T) campaign. It asks musicians to inspire others by sharing the reasons why music is so important in their lives. The aim of #mystory and D.T.R.T is to build confidence through music, to encourage people to use music to develop their self-esteem and create an online movement.

James Nugent, label boss at East 52nd Records explains, “We know that fashion plays a huge part in connecting with young people, but it has to be cool. Relevant merchandise means people will wear it and we can spread our message to music lovers. People who are interested in music notice when their friends have a new band t-shirt and ask about it. So we were keen to be involved with Spreadshirt because they too promote creativity and individuality. And their quality is good. They also make it easy to create, sell and distribute the merchandise, so we can get on with #mystory.”

Philip Rooke, CEO of Spreadshirt says, “We are convinced that just as music gives expression to ideas, feelings and opinions, you can do the same by showing your ideas on a t-shirt. #mystory is a fantastic project for us because we also believe that it’s inspiring to share your thoughts with others; to spread it with Spreadshirt! The music industry has also always been at the forefront of merchandising, so this is an opportunity for us to give back. Everyone has a story; with #mystory and Spreadshirt you can share yours.”

D.T.R.T would like to hear from established artists, new bands and even people who just have a favourite song that reminds them of something. By sharing stories, whether online or on a t-shirt, D.T.R.T wants to give everyone the confidence to be who they want to be.

D.T.R.T has established an online shop using Spreadshirt’s platform and print-on-demand service. It will give East 52nd Records an extra way to reach people and spread their inspiring message. Fans can choose a size or colour to suit them and show their allegiance to #mystory offline at a gig, as well as online.
